Omega throatiness
« on: 10 May 2008, 21:01:24 »

Hi all
Just had a holed piston on my 2.5v6 replaced and also had 2 new cats fitted complete with sensor.  My problem is, it is now a lot more noisy and has lost some of the grunt it had (before holed piston came about).
Some of the noise was the vacuum pipe from the rear of the engine to possibly the engine management system, which had not been reconnected, and even after refitting it has not cured the whole problem and i am wondering if there may be another pipe somewhere that hasn't been put back either.
It runs okay at motorway speed but has a throaty rumble during acceleration.  The garage has told me they have done an oxygen check and everything is okay there.

To ask a question and feel idiotic for a moment is better than not to ask and be idiotic for a life time.
