Cleaning up exhaust end pipes
« on: 26 May 2008, 17:22:09 »

I've been trying for some time to tidy up, or shine up the two exhaust end pipes on the mig.
I've even looked at buying some chrome end pipe sleeves.
But I can never find any with the correct diameter to go over the pipes, they are too big.

Does anybody have any ideas????

I had also remembered Debs mentioning some chrome exhaust trim, but they were oval.

The ones on mine are about 65mm dia each.
just about every other pipe I see in shops only goes up to a 50mm dia. that suits the 1.2 corsa brigade but not the 2.5 elites :(

The standard pipe ends are 65mm, i have seen some tips that go up to 62mm, you might have to do some 'trimming'

I've just bought 2 x chrome tail pipes for mine from an independant car shop for £5.00 each.  I measured my tail pipes and they were 60mm diameter, these fitted nice & snugly with a minimal tapping on with a rubber mallet to make sure that they can't be removed!
