F1 Conspiracy?
« on: 22 October 2007, 09:41:28 »

Following the Ferrarigate scandal, it kind of makes you wonder wether McLaren made some kind of deal with Ferrari in order not to have been kicked out of the championship. Doesn't it seem odd that in China, McLaren left Hamilton out on bald tyres which cost him the race and total lack of points, and then isn't it strange that in yesterday's race his gearbox went into neutral for 40 seconds and then performed flawlessly for the rest of the race. :-/

Then look at Alonso's performance yesterday, or rather lack of it. OK, he finished a distant 3rd but depite knowing that if he won or came second he could be champion, he just didn't seem to be making any effort to keep up with the Ferrari's let alone race them!!  :-/

Conspiracy or have I just got a suspicious mind? :-?

I dont think he was allowed to win.

Mclaren have notified the FIA of their intention to appeal the stewards verdict following the Brazilian grand prix.

I feel that there is something a bit fishy going on... 3 stop strategy, mystery problems in the gearbox... doesn't quite add up

Could it be that Bernie has a remote control!

If any of it is true then we are all just being taken for mugs particularly if you pay to see a race.

I also wondered why he was in for 3 stops  ::)
Our lass asked me what all the aerials/antenna were for on the cars, I said that the cars sent performance/problem info back to the pits  :question. Is it right that the pits can send instructions/info back to the car  :question, just wondered.

Apparently, according to Martin Whitmarsh, the 3 stop strategy gained Lewis 10 seconds over the duration of the race... I haven't quite got my head around this considering every man and his dog was on a 2 stopper. If someone does know how, I would love to know!

I think they can only monitor the car via the telemetry and then pass instructions to the driver to make any necessary changes using the mutifunctions on the steering wheel.

Because he would have lapped quicker due to fresher tyres probably.

heard this morning on radio it's being appealed due to the fact that a couple of teams were using fuel that was colder than the requirements meaning other teams had an advantage! if proved then lewis would be either 4th or 5th meaning he would win championship

All these theories will go on for weeks, nothing will happen, mark my words.

He lost, they need to pick up the pieces and look to the future, not waste time on all these, what ifs, yes buts, they didnt etc etc.

The williams and BMW will not be penalised, its a end of a messy season.

Move on, if he was bad done by then yes he should get what he deserves, but come on, they will be talking about something else in the news next week.

IMHO

Well i am glad that there are a few more out there that think that there is something going on in the Background.

The Speed of the Ferraris all of a sudden is unbelievable, they were  in some parts of the race over 1,5 seconds faster than all the rest. Now this could be down to the work that the team has done over the last week but it sure looks odd, that a Mercedes that was so fast  at the las Grand Prix, should all of a sudden be so slow.

We obviously all agree that Lewis made a mistake, when trying to re-overtake Alonso in the first lap, but the 40 seconds that it took to re-set the Electrics in the Mercedes ........... well very unconvincing.
Lets remember Williams a few years back, as it came out that they were able to turn the Launch controll on and off from the pit lane, and that the FIA were not ble to proove that it was actually in use, although nearly every start was won by them.    Coincidence, i think not.

As Bob Dent so vividly put it  "it kind of makes you wonder wether McLaren made some kind of deal with Ferrari in order not to have been kicked out of the championship."

The decision is up to you, because we will never find out the truth of what happens in the backgroung of this Formula 1 "Circus"

Ferrari won due to superior pace, not Alsonso not trying. Hamilton had a box problem, and they were frantically trying different programs to get it working.

3 stops, given his position after the 8th lap works out quicker buy around 10s than his (planned) 2 stopper.

No conspiracy.

Well done to Kimi - he deserved it :y

Shame on McLaren for launching a 'sour grapes' appeal.
