Door electrics !
« on: 10 June 2008, 13:22:46 »

Hi all. This sounds like something very simple but has me beat. For some reason the electric window on the front passenger door wont work from the doors own switch but will from the drivers door, i have tested the switch and it's fine. I've also lost power to the courtesy light on the same door. I've checked all connections in the door and all the usual fuses but none have blown. Does the door have a dedicated fuse hidden away somewhere? I dont want to strip the dash to run another wire if possible.

Cheeers folks.

Does the door lock and it's speaker work?

There is a large connector in the leading edge of the door that carries all services, might be displaced, or cable might be fractured where it flexes.

Hi Mike. Speaker, lock etc all fine. Elec mirror does up/down but not left/right but i suspect this is something different. I stuck the meter on the window switch connectors but the highest voltage there is 1v, there is no power at all at the courtesy light even when the others are all on and the ignition is on. The swith in the door jam is fine too. I'm usually okay with electrickery but not this time ;-)

Cheers
