Hi The Boy,
Would my 96 3.0L Elite be eligible for upgrades of any kind?

   Thanks,
              Pete.
There will be some updates, but nothing worthwhile :y

If auto, I'd suggest that, and also a climate update.

Yup. Alas I have to make a small charge to help recoup some of the costs of buying and running the equipment - see my signature...

TheBoy did the firmware updates on my 2001 car a year and a half ago.

There was no noticeable change with the ECU, Climate, etc, upgrades, though it is obviously best to have the latest versions.

However the auto gearbox upgrade made a massive difference... what is even more annoying is that a couple of months earlier I actually complained to the dealer during servicing that the autobox was clunky and asked them to look into it, they got back to me saying that they checked the fluid level and it was fine, and there was  nothing else they could do...

Anyway the autobox firmware upgrade to v9 (which I understand is available for mini-facelift vehicles i.e. from around 98 upwards) transformed the car, it was changing gears silky smooth and in my opinion a must have.

Its a shame u cant just send the ECU modules to be upgraded and sent back, but alot of aggro involved if it could be done that way i imagine.
