Keeps cutting out
« on: 12 June 2008, 22:51:09 »

Hi all.
I have a 2.0L petrol automatic and it keeps cutting out on me when running idle or breaking at lights etc....
Sometimes it wont, it will drop from about 900 rpm to 500 rpm and then recover but a lot of the time it just cuts out.
Has anyone any idea what might be causing this???????

Cheers

P

Cleaning the throttle body and its surrounding breathers as well will make a huge difference.  Make sure you lubricate the ICV after cleaning it.

There is a super section in the maintenace section which explains the whole  cleaning process, really easy job if you follow the instructions.
