Just got my log book back and it states petrol, Is there a worthwile reduction in road tax if I register it as gas?

3.0 Elite with a Necam kit fitted by the way.

As far as i know, you get no tax relief on the Omegas

Why? If the car is registered after 2001 than you should get a reduction. Funny thing is that it's as ecologial as 2.5 diesel, but still you can only get £20 back!
Next year Tax bands will kill family cars... Anything 2.0 and above - min £300.

Is there any particular reasan that any Omega, registered after 01/03/01 should not get a tax reduction?

Those figures only apply to "type approved" .. ie factory installs ..

basically the government does NO emissions testing whatsoever, but uses figures provided by the manufacturers .. as there are no figures for an LPG Miggy .. we get no reduction

Mine is a feb 2000 registred but was built in may 99 so am I right in thinking I will stay at £190 a year level?

My friend had converted his Zafira in Poland and only had to translate his certificate. I am sure you can certify your conversion. I don’t know if you need an invoice or just a certificate.
I would say it’s a rip off – this is a ROAD TAX and it’s calculated by CO2. If there is less CO2 pollution, car should be in relevant band.
“Hybrid” cars – it’s a laugh as these burn fuel like normal cars, and just storage electricity when the car does need to slow down. There is a pollution, but what can we do…
Only reasonable idea is to buy a diesel (low bands – don’t know how they calculate this) but again ON prices are jumping everyday… I will have to think about O2 or H2 car

P.S. Omegod - yes, as you still pay for engine size (me too)
