Wheels
« on: 11 June 2008, 14:28:54 »

Hi, do all 5-stud Vauxhall wheels fit Omega's? I need to get some new tyres and figure that it maybe cheaper to pick up a complete set of wheels from someone or even a breakers. Plenty of Vectra's etc about.

Currently have the standard 16's with 205/60 tyres (I think). Was thinking 17's with 225/55 would be a performance improvement? Do people have experience with handling/ride fitting other combinations of wheels and tyres?

Also - do Saab wheels also fit? Sure I read it somewhere recently....

Cheers,

Andrew

A lot of the forum members have various wheel and tyre combinations of upto 19” in Diameter and widths in excess of 275 in some cases.

But I think the inset and offset on a lot of other Vauxhall wheels could become cause for concern.

I am sure over the next few days you will get plenty of sound advice.

Just make sure they are aware of your car details in your profile.

Typo on my part. 225/17/45's I guess would be ideal. Any ideas on Vauxhall wheels post 1996 - will all 5-studs fit?

Cheers for the link. They'd be ideal but we're running on a pretty tight budget (£1000 all in) so they are on the pricey side - especially as they need a couple of tyres.

Not only will Vauxhall wheels fit but some Saab, Pontiac, Chevrolet, and Saturn wheels. I have no clue as to the availability of these wheels in the UK but here's my list anyhow.

Needs to be same rolling diameter (for speedo and fuel computer) and same ET and PCD (to physically fit)

** or within at least 2.5% for law's sake (will give slightly different speedo reading but ok if within 2.5% difference)

OK - thanks for that great information.

I only have about 10 days to prepare and I don't appear to have access to posting new topics in the wanted section - so I'm going to ad my request here and see if I get lucky:

Hi - I'm after some wheels with tyres.

Ideally, 17's with 225/45's as I'd like to keep the rolling-radius for the speedo accuracy but will consider other sizes.

All tyres must be legal and be at the least, matched pairs (don't mind running different tyres front to back but not side to side).

"Performance" tyres would be a real bonus - condition of wheels irrelevant - providing they aren't buckled of course!

Need them by next weekend - can collect from London area, Essex, Suffolk etc.

Cash waiting.

Cheers,

Andrew
