Hi i wonder if someone can help me. I've a 96 2.5 TD CD the one with the BMW engine and its devoleped a fault. When you change gears from 1st to 2nd the engine just cuts out but when you turn the key to start it there is no problem, it fires up straight away. This is only at low rev's and bloody annoying in traffic. Sometines if u push in the clutch it will fire up again but only sometimes otherwise it just dies out. I tried to do a paperclip test but my car wont do it. Sorry about that

EML coming on? If so, is it storing a 64?

Try this - remove fuel filter, empty it, fill it to top with neat Diesel Magic (ignore the instructions on bottle), refit filter, then start it.  It will run like a bag of spuds until its gobbled all the Diesel Magic (about 20s).

See if that improves things (even if only temporary).
