BLOODY TALK TALK!
« on: 26 October 2007, 06:58:13 »

My £10 p/m Broadband and phone has ended!
I got a letter off TalkTalk saying I had requested my phone line to be changed to another provider last week - no I didnt! So I ring them up and tell them they have made a mistake, job done (or so I thought).

2 days later everything is dead, no phone or broadband  >:(

I rang them like WTF!!!  >:( >:( >:( but no matter how many times I phoned I got some numpty in Dubai or somewhere who could only tell me what was on the screen (sorry you have moved your account to another provider) and I'd have to join BT again to get TT. To cut a long story short I've had to join BT again who wanted £125 connection fee plus £30-£40 P/M!!! As they told me they dont "own" the line.
(on dial up till Monday  >:()

I'd be finding out who the phone line was transferred to and going after them for compensation and complaint to OFTEL  :y

Pain in the bum......i managed to get £35 knocked off my second BT bill, due to the issues with their wireless connection, was a bloke from indai, first thing I aksed him is where are you from india?, he replied yes, but I am trained the same as the folks in the UK, refunded me the maximum amount, mainly due to the time spent calling their technical support (in India) that was a complete waste of time >:(........to add to that had the phone line connected to the broadband number thinking it was cheaper, well apparantly not, my wifes friends have ran up some horrendous bills phoning her on the broadband number, they phoned up to complain :P, I said well teach them to stay too long on the phone then won't it, should save them some money now then eh?, was my reply. Needless to say connected it back up to the normal landline ;D

We've had one post about boycotting petrol stations. There are companies that use call centres in GB. I think we should all be using them. We need the jobs, and it would save a lot of frustration.

Talktalk are utter crap. My mother in law had an ongoing 6 month problem where the adsl signal kept dropping. After me calling up 16 times to tell them it was the cable outside that is partially split and creating noise on the line , they refused to do anything about it as on their system she was getting the full signal. Eventually took it further and came out. A young girl who found it was the line outside and was repaired in 5 mins flat.

They probably have! When you change your provider, you dont do it yourself, the 'new' provider puts the request in.......so unless it was a mistake by themselves, they must know who the request came from.
