Worth thinking about.  My spares, used be be a set of Bulbs, A gallon of fuel, Fan belt and a set of plugs.  Plus a Tow Rope and Jump Leads.

Miggy I have a full set of Fuses and Relays
Odd Bulbs, Tow Rope, Jump Leads and a 5 Litre Jug Of Fuel.

Or join the AA and enjoy full membership as I do to get you home to carryout the work in comfort with the parts readily to hand.  I carry spare bulbs, electrical parts and tools, but keep any spare parts such as engine or running gear bits at home to save carrying them around.  Apart from that I am too old to be crawling around my car. in the dark and all weather conditions as I once did.

Apart from anything else, what 'spare' parts would you carry, and where do you stop.  The last time a miggy let me down it was the A/C compressor that jamed the engine solid, but I could not have carried one of those around 'just in case'!

i carry my work tools all the time anyway, so more likely to be able to fix the bugger, i suppose. But re crank sensor myn gave me a "warning"
before it actually failed so wonder if it will leave me stranded and will have to jack the car to get at it anyway,i dont trust that spindley thing vx give you.

not embarassing at all- it was a relief in a way to see a younger miggy with a similar issue to mine. Just carry a gallon of antifreeze mix along with what ever you already have in the boot
