tech info
« on: 16 July 2008, 14:00:52 »

hello,

it's time to replace my cars and i've been looking toward the omega estate as an all round car.
i've been looking at the 2001> 3.2 v6 version. can anyone give me any information about performance and reliability. i'm unsure about the difference between the elite and the mv6? which is the better and whats the difference? i presume both come with the manual transmition option (but looking it seems that the 3.2 only comes with an auto)? also, what equipment comes as standard and what is optional extra, e.g does the vehicle come with oil pressure and volt guages as standard or as an extra, or, are these options not available for the omega. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible but do not know where to look.

-What makes it more difficult is the fact that i live in Jersey and i've not yet seen a single facelift version over here to look at or test drive!!

right, any 'retail' 3.2 V6 Omega will be an auto, only ex-police ones will be manual

MV6 is the 'sport' version, sporty seats, silver dash style, HID's and thats about it.

Generally look at MV6 as CD spec, with sports pack. Has lower and stiffer shocks and springs.

Elite is the best of the spec, self leveling airshocks at the back, loads of toys, memory seats, bose, sun roof, blind, the works.

Elite is the one to go for really if you want all the toys, MV6 for a more sporty drive, has less roll.

Bugger, I've just posted a fairly lengthy reply to your post in the Newbie's welcome section before I saw your post here. ::)

Only manuals you will get in 3.2 guise are povety spec ex-plod. They did not do manual option in retail channel.
