Lambda wires on a 2.6
« on: 30 June 2008, 11:42:25 »

Hi Guys,

I found this on another post and wondered if anyone knows where i could find the lambda wires on my 2.6?  I wouldn't mind hooking up my LPG ECU to them.

Cheers and thanks in advance.
Marc

"OK. X25XE / X30XE pin numbers:

+12v switched: ecu pin 27/black
RPM: 43/Green
Lambda sensors: 28/Brown&Blue, 47/Brown&Blue

The pins are numbered round the edge of the connector base, IIRC.

I just posted a reply to that about having to find the colours in the ECU plug itself. They changed into a shielded cable as soon as they left the plug on mine so I couldn't find the colours. I have no idea if the 2.6/3.2 uses the same loom though.

Hope this makes sense!

Hi,

I'll take a look at mine but in 99% sure the 2.6/3.2 use a different ECU.  I would have posted up on your thread but didn't want to hijack it.

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling I ended up on the blue wires at the other end of the sensor element (28/44) .  :-/

There are a few other blue wires in that connector too.

Interesting.

I quoted the other wires as the normal convention is for signal wires to have a stripe..........of course it might still work depnding on what method they are using to bias the sensors.

I will double check when I'm back at home next week. Pin 44 certainly rings a bell though.

You need the pre-cat sensors. The post cat ones tell you what the cat is doing rather than what's coming out of the engine.

Mine are on pins 28 and 44 (blue wires) and seem to work OK.

Got it up and running on LPG today - finally. Runs exactly as it does on petrol.

Nice one, it's a good feeling when it runs for the first time. The first car i did had a faulty buzzer and i didn't know it switched over.... it was so smooth.  8-)

i take it as your is a 3.2 and mine is a 2.6 the wire loom will be the same, so i will look for the same wire tomorrow.

You'll need to buzz the wires through with a multimeter from the pin on the connector because there are at least half a dozen blue wires in there but yes, the 2.6 should be the same.
