Fun with OEM idler arm
« on: 20 July 2008, 20:22:28 »

Went to get an OME idler arm fitted on Saturday that i got from a company called VSC it was sold as a OME replacement idler arm gave them all the infor about the car and told that it would deff fit.
They took the old arm off and this took about 5mins. When it came to fitting the new one it would not go on to the sleeve more an " inch max
, Now this was not the cheap ones on e-bay for £12 these may have been better ,no this one was £30 + 6.50 p & p.

To cut a long story short i had to pay £54 for a Vaux one that when on in sec. I call VSC to tell them that they will be getting there part back and to send on a refund.

So just a waning about some of the so called OME idler arms out there
and to give you a heads up.

Has any one had any probs like this or is it just me :question

Hope this many be of help . The good news is that with the new arm the car feels a lot better now  :y just hve to get the springs and shocks done.

You should have bid on the genuine one.

For info, it seems to be luck of the draw.

When they make them soemtimes some of the rubber gets inside the metal sleeve (needs filing out) to get it to slot on easily, this happens on the genuine and OEM ones.

Sorry i do  ::)

The one  that was from VSC was way to small the guy did a lot of filing but no good would still only go on a inch.

Would have saved a few pennes on the e-bay :-[
