Hi folks, just looking for some info on the internal dimensions of a 2002 miggy 2.2 estate. My '98 2.5 saloon isn't big enough any more!! Can anyone tell me if the rear seats fold flat and length of the cargo area with the rear seats folded? I can't find this anywhere. Thanks.

Facelift estate internals are the same as pre-facelift.....

Yes rear seats fold flat & lock flat (on mini facelift estate)

also the passenger seat folds forward and flat so you can a fair bit in it  long ways , got a 7ft fridge freezer in mine with room to spare

yes they do bud fold headrests down and pull front seats foward push down on rear seats and they lock into place

well, flat-ish on my old barge  loads of space though.  as above, they'll only go down after you've removed the rear headrests and that took some time to figure out   when I first got it?!?!

IIRC its only on the cloth interior, that the passenger front seat folds forward flat.

Didn't get mine (pre-facelift) to lie totally flat, but good enough for a fridge AND freezer at the same time..

8 years of Mig estate ownership and I did not know the front seat folded flat, will have to check this out for myself.

8 years of Mig estate ownership and I did not know the front seat folded flat, will have to check this out for myself.

There should be a little lever like the ones you get on a 3 door car to put the seat down

On all estates, even leather, the rear seats fold flat and lock in the flat position.

On pre mini-facelift you have to remove the rear headrests, press in the little latches at the back of the socket tubes and pull headrest out. Will be stiff if not done for some time, bit of polish on metal rods helps keep them free.
Mini face-lift press the button underneath the headrest and it will fold forwards.
Face-lift Think its the same as mini-facelift.

All models, press in the button to release the seat back (also release latch holding split seat together on face-lifts) and fold the seat down, at this stage it wont sit flat, now press down or kneel on the seat back until the flap bridging the gap between boot floor and seat back locks into place. Hey presto a full size double bed space!!

To fold seat back up you have to press down on seat back again whilst lifting the flap.

As can be see from the above picture when the seats are folded flat there is a large area. I have put a box in of about 3ftx4ftx6ft and closed the boot properly.

With the front seat folded down I have transported a whole bathroom suite from B&Q in the back, off the packing crate but everything still in boxes. With those that can have the front seat down you can get a 9ft long load in.

I think that Omega estate is a better by thatn the modern Volvos that used to have big estates but not now.
