Q. For our LPG experts

Right --- as some might know I am upgrading the front end from mixer to sequential and am using a pre-loved system from a dead 3.0 litre.

From the Zavoli ECU are 2 wires, bundled together, quite thin gauge, one orange and t'other black. These are both tagged "To Vapouriser".

At the vapouriser are two thicker gauge copper wires, both heat shrinked black, coming out of a brass fitting ( sensor??).

Do these two connect to the orange and black wires (no way of telling which to which!) ?

The ECU also has 2 unidentified wires, one black and one black with an orange stripe -- any ideas what these are for ?

The old vapouriser is a Landi -- if the Zavoli is duff, can these be swapped over?  If so, which is the better make ??

Right --- this is the vap -- with the two unidentified wires coming out at the top. Soldered to a brass fitment, both shrouded black:




ECU ---- the thicker gauge wires ( again unidentified) run off from the loom connected to the ECU -- towards the right ( away from the vap). To where or what ????

Two thinner wires (marked vap) head off to the left in the right direction for the vap ---- Do these connect to the black shrouded wires at the top of the vap?




These are the wires marked "To Vapouriser"

The wires from the vap look like a temperature sensor but can't help much on where they go on the ecu... Probably the ones marked "to vaporiser" but can't be sure?? :-/ :-/

Can you get a wiring diagram for the kit?

Can I be the odd one out... I don't think you should fit this kit. Sell it on ebay for whatever you can, and buy a brand new Stag one. With the lengths you're going to, this won't be a great expense and you'll have the insurance of knowing the LPG kit is brand new and under guarantee...

Have searched the net for a diagram -- no luck so far.

I understand your reasoning James ( and it might yet happen that way !!! ). But for the mo -- getting her to run on petrol is the focus -- just trying the upgrade to see if it will work .... might just strip it out later  ::)

I agree... I didn't think that was an option though!!!  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Having got my front end kit from Jeremy and should be getting the tank tomorrow (after a bit of a cock-up) I can say that the instructions, particularly the schematic wiring diagram, are incredibly clear! Not only do you get a nice new kit, and the software for tuning, you'll also have a 2 year warranty!!

What sort of money is a new kit and i take it that is just the front end because i might put one on my 3.0 as i have the use of a two post ramp and all the tools you could ever want  :)

You'll get one under £500, so sell the old one for £250 and you're laughing :y

Sounds better all the time -- but the buyer will want to know where those flamin' wires go !!!!

Not your problem if you sell it on eBay!!  ;D ;D ;D

The Stag kit is under £500 for the front end, and it comes with fantastic instructions!!! You might even be able to get a discount if you don't need all the extra pipework etc but TBH I'd just get the whole lot and completely re-fit, including the rear to front fuel line!!

Was thinking of changing the front to rear fuel line at some point -- I don't like the way the original installers passed it over the chassis rail at the front ( petrol lines go through -- gas lines go over -- or under to be more accurate. If unfortunate enough to bottom the rail the lines would be ripped off !!!!!

Worse still... You might get some spotty grease monkey us it a a jacking point!!!  :o :o :o
