Hi, had starting and stalling issues last week, had to get the MIG towed to my local garage here in Kinross:(

Turned out to be the crank sensor (as i had suspected), anyway, my local garage guy said he didn't know where to start to replace it, also that it might take the best part of a day if he tried. After he had poked at it for a bit, the engine started to run again next turn of the key.

So, he said to take it to a dealer or vaux specialist, that was my plan for today.
However, i stopped off for cig's at my local sommerfield in Kinross, came back out and the car is a total non-starter.

Does any member in the area have a sensor and the knowhow to fit it? i don't own as much as a spanner these days, so if someone would sell me their spare sensor and time it would get me out of a real pickle:)

Sensor is next to the oil filter.

NEVER GO NEAR THIS GARAGE AGAIN.

A day to change a crank sensor, is he having a bloody laugh!?

I do agree with Tunnie here but he shouts more

It is around a half an hour job, the Crank Sensor is about £50 from Vauxhall..
Like already said the crank sensor is right by the oil filter so you can't miss it.
You will need a female torx socket and ratchet, a couple of wire ties and that is it mate, oh a jack so you can get under the car.

Thanks for the comments, but as i said, i dont even own a spanner.

In Kinross, there are NO vauxhall or any other dealers, and no motor factors. I have no other transport, so cant go and buy the sensor (even though i have a TC card) It was in person help i was asking about, but thanks anyway

worth keep checking if it will start,you never know, but sounds like youve had your couple of days warning.

maybe get an hbv and spare c sensor just in case if your out in the no sticks.

I'm about 10 miles from you and able to assist, but not available until late Tuesday evening at the earliest for various personal reasons.  Could meet you at Kinross/home with spanners etc if you were able to source the correct sensor from someone on here or VX meantime.....

Thanks Hotel and everyone else, after a long garage check out, it turned out to be a broken wire between the ecu and god knows what  Cheapish at the end of the day, no rpm was the code (crank sensor ) , but simple fix saved me dosh
