Which cars work with the Pedal test?

Is it worth nailing down exactly which cars work with
This test? I keep recommending this to what i think
 of as  Point 2 engines, ie 2.2  2.6  3.2 but i have not seen any
Come back as to weather it works on the all of these?
As i understand it the paper clip test works on short
Plenum engines, is that the case?
 and pedal test tbc  with all point 2 engines?
And are there any engines that have no means of
Flashing out fault codes if neither tests work?
For the record, pedal test works with my 3.2
And is as follows.
Foot on brake, gas pedal to the floor.
Turn on ignition fully without firing the engine
When dash lights go out the yellow light car symbol
With a spanner through it should flash.
4 sets of flashes/numbers pause and so on.
10 flashes is zero.
Constant flashing no codes.

Paper clip test im sure you all know about.

Also can someone confirm if both only read
the engine ecu and is no good for gearbox etc?

Can anybody enlighten me please, Cheers.

Doesn't work on the 2.2 but seems to work on the 2.6 and 3.2.

Hi,
As I understand it, the pedal method works with all the DBW (Drive by wire) types of engines.

Can definately confirm it works on 3.2 engine.

I concur for the 3.2 .. and I believe this is the fault code list .. not had this info verified though ... :(

That's a cut down list, standard OBDII codes will cover it.

nice one Entwood, hope i never need them tho.
Only engine codes, are they? So does that mean
Pedal test only reads engine ecu? I guess it does.
I might print that list off and keep a  copy in the car.
Esp to make a note of that bloody crank sensor. Not
Code 19...interestingly.

You won't get a 19 on a 3.2, it's 0335 on a 3.2 IIRC, the pedal test will only flash out engine management codes.

Can't comment on all the codes listed on above reply, but would point out that P0402 and P0403 are the small front Cats efficiency codes on the 2.6 and 3.2

(Don't have any EGR on these models)

P0420 and P0430 - I get them once a fortnight now and have to clear them!

Thats the way...someone sets a standard - then a manufacturer goes and makes a new one.  Easier to re-use a relative, but unused (in their application) one..

These are the systems on a MY2003 Omega (column three), there may be more that TB / MDTM could add.
