hi all
my 2,5 v6 petrol auto has the eml on and the car seems to be sluggish, started it this morning and it seem as if the sound from exhaust is missing and also smells strong with fuel, btw im quite new to this and also only ever done an oil change so bit of a novice, note ,,, cam belt changed few weeks ago and not seemed rite since, also plugs changed, hheeelllppp please

Paper clip test first to ask the car why the EML is on.

Mmm? The car hasn't been right since the cam belt change? Who did it? Has it been done correctly, ie all timed up properly? :-/

hi , yes as far as i know, was done at a garage with good rep, i off on hol friday pulling caravan so i bit worried
any ideas about fumes??

b tw, took it back to garage few days later as eml was on, he said it was knock sensor and would be ok, reset codes and left it at that, car now seems to have no pull in it and just not drivin as it was

Having just had something major done to the engine...and the engine magically doesnt run properly after I would be at the garage every day until they sorted it out (at their expense) as it seems pretty clear its something they did (or didnt do right)...as said do paperclip test (its very easy) and report back the codes

what's the betting that the cam timing is way off or the air management/multiram connectors are wrong?

Remember it does not matter how good the garage is, unless they have used the full V6 locking kit they will not get the cam timing spot on.  If it is way off it will run like a dog

get the paperclip test done and report back.

Happy to check your cam timing one evening next weekend if you can make it to coventry
