Sounds dim but are there any switches etc ? I have a 3 litre elite and it's got every other piece of kit imaginable so would expect it to have.

no swtiches m8 it will be automatic ajustment look at the rear shocks if there is a black pipe coming off of them then its self level but someone might have replaced them with standard shocks at some point for the costing

I would have come from factory with self levelling

If you look at the 'main light unit' to the right of the steering wheel you should have 'one wheel' adjuster which dims the instrument lights, most models have two, the other alters the headlight beam level, on Elites and models which have 'self-leveling' the headlight beam is adjusted automatically to suit the ride height and load - all very clever

Depending on what attitude the car is in when you turn on the ignition, you may hear the self-levelling pump actuate for a short while, if everything is in working order. It is designed to switch on if the height sensor is out of range for more than 20 seconds (if the car is too high, it instead opens a valve to let air out of the shocks and lower them).

I retrofitted self-levelling to a Carlton 2.6 estate for a customer a couple of years ago, which was fun. I'm assuming that the Omega uses more or less the same system. The pump certainly looks the same, judging by the one on my Elite estate.

Just found a receipt for rear shocker replacement, £136 supplied and fitted I very much doubt they were the self levelling variety!!

last owner was a cheapskate, No wonder Im cathing the exhaust on speed bumps, 80 litre lpg tank in the boot too!

How much for the sls ones and is my system now likely to be buggered due to being disconnected/dry?

HID level switch is bugger all to do with self levelling suspension.

Self leveling rear damper are availabel on Trade Club .... Danny bought a pair recently  ..£70 each seems to ring a bell ...  :-/
They'd been removed from mine too  when I got mine, & they'd unplugged the compressor (under driver's side of bumper) too, it'd have been a lot easier to just remove the fuse  :-?. As a result of the plastic tubing having had nothing to plug into, a couple of them had been rubbing against the tyres & so were fubar'd - not cheap really considering they are only bits of plastic tubing.

The rubber on the bottom of my shocks are starting to crack   Self leveling still works, however it goes down on its own now as the air is leaking through the rubber  

Can these bits be repaired? or is it a whole lot job?  :-/

they are in integral part of the shock absorber, need a whole new one

Shocks/springs etc should always be replaced in pairs

I have a CDX which the spec says I have self levelling
now I know there is a sensor at front near side which i think is for head light adj
but other day while replacing pads on rear I noticed a sensor on near rear arm does this mean I have self level cos I dont seem to be able to see a tube coming from struts?
Is there a way of checking ?
