« on: 30 July 2008, 21:42:50 »

Hi peeps

This evening I went to start my miggy and it would'nt start the battery was flat I hav'nt used/started her for 5 days surely it should'nt be doing that in this weather!!!the battery is a genuine VX item & its only 6 months old, I've checked all interior lights, all fine, I've done nothing to it electrical wise only to disconnect the battery to fit a cover, normally I use it Mon-Fri for work & it starts on the button every day, the most I leave it is about 2 days (wkends) but it starts fine!! I just don't know whats up with her???? Im worrying cos I rely on it for work.
Please Help :'(

First thing - check the connections on the battery terminals -- as they are the only thing that has been disturbed lately -- were the posts clean when you reconnected?

Have you checked the charging rate with a meter?

Fiddling about with the CD player this afternoon (ignition switched on) the battery just went flat,.... now when i've done this before (always fiddling when it comes to CD players!) its starts fine,
my theory now is since fitting all the ELITE spec add ons, I've not compensated for the extra electrical stuff so im thinkning cos the battery I bought (VX item) was the GLS spec cos (thats what I told them) Its the 55Ah & the ELITEs are 85Ah could I have made a big booboo???? :-[ Does this sound plausable?

What was the measurement when you checked the charging voltage as AA suggested?
