How do. Part of my long-term plan for my 2.6 manual, is to drop a 3.2 engine in... if it's worth it. Is there a significant performance increase? And how much part-swapping is involved?

 I'd buy a proper 3.2, but I couldn't bear to get rid of my baby... plus I couldn't do without the manual box, and the proper MV6 interior (as opposed to plod-spec).

 If I went ahead, my intention would be to get the engine rebuilt before  dropping it in... and probably getting the bodywork done and painted while I'm at it... :D

I suspect you would also need ECU, loom, transponder and reciever from a 3.2...

IMO it's not worth it.

cant help thinking you would be better buying a 3.2 straight out. Got one in the end after a good couple of months looking, an elite for £3.5 trade in 400 for my 140k 99 cdx. 70k miles 52 plate with leather colour screen nav bose hids and so on. Throttle response is most noticeable and generally more poke of course but you pay with mpg. Lpg coming soon. I was extremely sorry to see my old car go, it was very difficult leaving it behind. But now. I dont miss it, not at all. Swapping motors, is alot of agro. For me, be patient keep looking, make auto trader your home page. "The one" will come along, eventually. Q the "she will cost you a load of money" and "need constant attention jokes".

Does the 2.6 come with R25 box?  3.2 will need the R28 I suspect.

Loom will be similar, but ECU will need recoding (or swapping).  Other ECUs will need recoding - ABS, MID spring to mind...
