misfire under load
« on: 27 August 2008, 18:50:08 »

hi people, im new here having not long had my Omega!
Its a 1999 2.5 auto, cd model, 1 owner, full service history, 72000 miles and i love it!
Its been running like a dream up until 3 days ago.
It has developed a misfire on idle and under heavy throttle.
This is not constant and seems worse when the engine is warm or hot!
The problem doesn't seem to occur at speed and it will cruise at 70/80 mph just fine even when using the kickdown.
But town driving is no fun as i have to feather the throttle to pull away so to avoid the misfire.
There are no lights on the dash to signify a fault either?
:(  Thanx for any pointers that may help!!!!!!

pull a plug lead on both sides and see if any oil in the plug wells.

Paperclip test.  If nothing, check HT side, including oil in plug wells.
