ar35 gearbox
« on: 26 August 2008, 21:06:38 »

made a bit of a opps up today, checking the level of trans oil.  for some reason i decided to undo the bolt up above the sump plug and oil pissed out everywhere under pressure.  1st question is this trans oil and 2nd wheres it going.  it was dark brown, but not engine oil.  last question how much trans oil do these boxes hold.

all help appreciated

there is one other thing tried to remove fuel filter as well, barsteward would not release, any body have any good pointes to remove the clips.

TIA

The bolt on gearbox? Yes, that will cause ATF to fly out if engine not running.

Worth changing the ATF...

If the oil is old, as it breaks down from long molecule chains to shorter ones, it increases in volume.

If gear changes are not smooth, do atf change asap. I recommend titan 4000 from opie oils :y
