Driving home from my father in laws house tonight through storms.... wasnt fun. Considering its from Manchester down to Stevenage i had to travel....

I realised how dirty the headlights are on the inside as the made practicaly no impact on the darkness ocmpared to other cars, this is a big problem as i mainly travel by night (working night shifts)

So i need to be able to clean the glass.. on previous cars this has been simply a case of removing the glass, using some windoline and popping it back on...

But the talk of headlights on here suggest a more intricate process is required?

On a side my son noticed earlier why one side of the rear numberplate doest properly stick to the boot lid... he lifted it up slightly to discover a hole of about half an inch big.... with loads of roast surrounding it :O

Swapping for Projector headlights, as fitted to minifacelift will help, then add some Plus50 type bulbs

 worth a look down the scrappy for some projectors, be carefull on e bay just in case you look on there. Make sure they are right hand drive.

projectors are fitted to minifacelift, HID (blue) are fitted to mv6/elites

Q TBs normal leagal reply re legalitys of HIDs with out washers or leveling. Kits supplyed else where not legal either. Hint. oh and tell your insurance company... Yeah, dont forget that one...

Fairly sure your car does not have projectors which means, as you say, candle power would be better. Also fairly sure both are sealed. And also probably not worth the effort anyway. Hence replys of find a replacement rather than cleaning. Look at any omega from, what, 98 on? Your fairly certain to sea
the differance. Couply of scrapys on here, Mutant Cav, and Marky Mark. Might be worth a pm.

You can always try some 1500 wet and dry and soapy water, then cutting compound then T Cut to polish them, but if they have gone yellow with age, its probably better to replace them. If you do replace them with projectors make the adjusters work on the ones you buy.

Its tedious, but is possible to seperate lense from unit...

The plastic goes yellow on the outside.  I used TCut on mine which did a reasonable job.   That is probably the cheapest solution but if you want to spend a bit of cash then changing to the projectors is the best bet (not sure what the going rate is).
If they are too yellow that will eventually be an MOT fail.

Its tedious, but is possible to seperate lense from unit...

takes me about 10 mins a side to split lense from lamp unit ! plenty flat screwdrivers and a stanley knife !!
