Tickover seems too low.
« on: 06 September 2008, 20:18:12 »

When I start up my 2.6 Omega from cold, the tickover settles on about 700-800 revs, but when it is fully warm, the tickover drops below 500 revs, and is now occassionally cutting out on me.

This seems too low to me. Any ideas?

2.6 or 2.5(as per your profile)?????

V6 idle should be 500rpm normal or 600rpm with air-con on.

2.5 will be idle control valve.
2.6, try and clean out the breather pipes etc........there is a how to in the maintenance section.

Is yours a 2.5V6?

If so ICV - remove and clean with carb cleaner, lightly oil (3 in 1) and refit.
