Done somthing wrong - advice needed
« on: 08 September 2008, 20:18:59 »

Got a problem guys, need to pick the collective brain again

Started out today to remove the abs ecu
Removed the battery, rad pipe & the 3 round multi plugs for access.

Gave up on the abs box, built everything back up. filled the water & went to start it. ignition lights all ok but no crank.
Unscrewed the 3 round multiplugs & reconnected them. And the car did start. Now though I'm getting "automatic gearbox" in the display (car is sitting in park ticking over).

Only thing I can think is the middle multiplug ( the blue one I think) doesnt seem to lock in properly. the twist lock turns to lock in the socket but there is no click to lock it in place. no matter how hard I turn it it won't lock

Please help, cos I'm supposed to pick up shewhoisneverwrong in about an hour :-[

Not sure if you can do a paperclip test on yours, if so please post the codes. It could just be a coincidence, but the connection sounds fave to me. Have you tried running three wires to make the connection?

Hmmm, of what you have disturbed, those connectors are only bit related to gearbox...

Yes you can paperclip yours - don't think its necessary tho as you have only disconnected battery & 3 plugs.  Check 3 plugs fully home and locked.

When i did my abs ecu only removed water hose - left battery and plugs connected.

paper clip test only reads engine ecu. You can try it, it wont hurt. Really need tech 2 to read any other ecu's. Gota be the plug tho.

The Blue plug is the one to look at, from my own experience.

This from 2005
