auto to manual conversion parts - picture
« on: 09 September 2008, 14:58:32 »

here is the picture of the parts i've got for converting my omega v6 from auto to manual.perhaps it will be useful to others, too!

I have:
- propshaft
- gearbox with cross
- flywheel with bolts
- clutch (attached to flywheel)
- clutch maser cylinder, small cylinder and pipes
- brake liquid reservoir
- clutch switch (needed for CC)
- clutch pedal assembly
- brake pedal assembly
- gearlever wit it's console and connection rod
- interior plastic part (around gearlever -> not shown on picture)

am i missing anything?

also, one more question: can someone explain me what needs to be done with electrics during this conversion, but in regular english (sometimes i find hard to understand some of 'local' words used ;D)?
So, i need as much info,as much detail as possible, how to override stuff like starter inhibitor, ignition retarding ect...

my mechanic says that he will not have any problems with mechanical part of the job (i.e. putting on flywheel, gearbox, propshaft ect) but he says that some problems with electrics may happen.

I've read that one many times, it's very useful, and I used it when I was getting all the parts needed.

But there is no detail explanation of electrical part in there, and that is the part that troubles me.

one more thing: i have bought a needle bearing that goes into crankshaft, but couldn't get a nylon bushing that goes with it, because GM dealer here doesn't even know that thing exists. So, can I put the needle bearing without the nylon bushing?

Your lacking the spiggot bearing and nylon bush for the end of the crank shaft.

I think the best way to do that is to find a manual one in scrappies and take the parts one by one with detailed pictures..

Regarding this - when you press the clutch pedal, what operates what, to make the hydraulics work?

The guide mentions connecting the pipe to the cylinder/reservoir, but, what actually happens at the pedal end and what needs to be done there?
