Thats not good :(  ... 2.6 is OBDII I think .. so using this site

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/

I make your list

0300 - Random Multiple misfires
0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire
0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire
0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire
0170 - Fuel trim Malfunction Bank 1
0173 - Fuel trim Malfunction Bank 2
0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire
0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire

I'm guessing wet electrics perhaps ?? :(

Further research has found this .. which may or may not be relevant ... with the fuel trim codes as well ..

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

but I don't know anywhere near enough to advise ... :(

I would be suspecting an airleak as its unlikely that both DIS packs would fail simultaneously.

Its also worth popping a coil pack out to check for oil in the wells (there shoudn't be any!).

Well I know that the passenger side DIS pack is/was on its way out, which was diagnosed at Keswick by Marks DTM, waer had also at some point got into one of the plug wells.

Water ingress is a possible, coil pack was past its best but, cant see both failing at once!

Check the large plastic brake servo pipe for damage (runs round the rear of the engine)

Mark been on the phone to Mike, on his car are the vac pipes that go to the brake servo pipe the same as mine? on mine there are three vac pipes that come from the servo pipe from two nipples with 90 degree bent connector pipes on that brake servo pipe... he has two, mike also says there is a vac pipe that runs under his plenum to the throttle body but i don't have one of those..... he says that this vac pipe is not connected could this be the problem?
Why would a vac pipe put up those codes?

Have reconnected the vac pipe that runs under plenum and connects to throttle body, very short though :-/

Brake servo pipe looks fine, few marks on it but would assume thats normal.

Vac line not connected is going to allow unmetered air into the plenum. Can you get the codes cleared and try it with the vac pipe reconnected Mike? Anyone local with an OBDII lead that can read/clear for you?

Take that as a no then. Might be an idea to invest in one of those ELM code readers like Entwood has. I imagine it would easily pay for itself against a code read at VX rates.
