Unclip the air feed pipe, remove the lower bolt and ease out of trailing arm and remove the top nut from inside the car.

Pretty easy to do.

ease out of trailing arm
in my case that bit was not as easy as it sounds. The tube through which the lower bolt passes in the shock absober fits into a recess in the trailing arm and it would not come out of the recess. It is difficult to apply any direct force with a hammer because the bush absorbs the shock. When I tried to apply any leverage the shock absorber completely disintegrated where the corrosion under the cuff had started and the damper oil poured out all over the drive, so be warned. The only way I got it off was to drill out the bush  until I could get the remnants of the shock absorber off and then use gentle force with a hammer on the remaining tube.

Shouldnt be a problem as the shocks are nearly new and being taken off to sell rather than to replace :)
