I have flashed this code off by paperclip test. i know its knock sensor 2. What is that in plain English please?

A knock sensor is a device that 'listens' for knocking or 'pinking'......as soon as it detects 'pinking' the ecu retards the ignition timing, until the engine stops 'pinking'.
So the engine will be fully advanced timing wise, to give the max power output without being over advanced.
In the olden days, before ecu's controlling the engine, the same affect (to adjust timing) was to rotate the distributor slightly.
