2.5 V6 Valve and Follower Assembly ?
« on: 15 September 2008, 21:04:36 »

I was looking in the Technical info section for details to do with the Valve and follower assembly but cant find a mention.  Does anyone know where I might find info on this.  I've got 2 bent inlet valves and need to change them.  Heads are off at the moment!

Also does anyone know where to buy the cam locking kit for a sensible price?

"VAUXHALL COLLEGE" There is a Vauxhall website called Vauxhall College.  Does anyone have access to this?  It would be an amazing source of info but it's difficult to log onto.

Cheers,

Martin

Sorry for late PM reply mate.

You need a spring compressor. You compress the spring, remove the collet - and remove the valve through the bottom.

Only thing is - make sure the valve guide is not damaged - chances are it might be, if the valve has bent...

If you need more info, or want to borrow my spring compressor, give me a yell :y

Cheers James you're a gent!  Might well be able to get my hands on a compressor.  I'm still struggling to find the licking tools once I get the head sorted out.  Any ideas where I can buy?

All the best,

Martin

Must be our accent Martin but do you mean 'lapping' tools?  ;) As for the typing, it happens to me! I blame the Special Brew ;)  :y

Machine Mart and any local motor factor. Be sure though that you buy one that will span the head & is deep enough to reach the valves.

Whilst you've got the camshafts off it's an Ideal opportunity to replace them with 3LTR ones and chip it for an extra 30 horses 8-) :y
