Fault codes
« on: 15 September 2008, 12:55:47 »

Hi,

My EML on my 2000 2.6 V6 CDX LPG has been going on and off and following advice, I've just done the paperclip test and have the following codes for translation into plain english please?

135 - Telltale (checklight) voltage low
87 - AC cutoff relay voltage low
52 - Telltale (checklight) voltage high

That is the order that the codes came out.  The car starts first time and runs fine.  Maybe its an alternator issue?

Cheers and thanks for any help.

Its a 2.5 V6 according to the profile....yet a 2.6 in the description (likely to be a 2.5 on a 2000 car)

I am assuming the ECU light on the dash is ok as you have flashed the faults out so they are probably a red herring.

87 relates to the AC relay K60 in the ECU box so check that out first using the following guide to locate the bugger!

Aaaah! Maybe thats why my aircon dosn't blow cold! I just assumed that it needed re-gassing and I've never bothered as thats what windows are for!!!

But its strange that the other two codes are for the same thing but for high and low voltage, which makes me wonder if the alternator is playing up?  :(

Can you and if so how to test a relay?  :-[
