OEM spec MV6 or ordinary shock absorbers query.
« on: 24 September 2008, 18:45:00 »

Hello all,

Right, I've finally got my TC card, so I've decided to go and change my shot shock absorbers.

I've decided to use VX OE parts as for the price it's a no brainer.

I would like to ask (although it's been covered in several threads already) for my own mind clarity;

I understand that the price of standard and MV6 police special spec is roughly the same.

So, on my pre facelift saloon which should I go for?

I have looked at the parts inventory at the dealers and they have several options for 'lowered sports chassis' etc.

I've looked at doing the springs but I don't want to go down the 40mm lowering road, and would rather stick with standard ride heights.

Does anyone have relevant part numbers for the shocks, and do I go for regular or 'police spec'? also do they use the same lower mounting bolts (M14 x 76) or are the MV6 / police spec different sizes?

BTW - if anyone in surrey or surrounds needs anything on TC feel free to drop me a pm.

You just need MV6 shocks, which are slightly shorter than the normal ones.

Where abouts in Surrey are you then??
