simplest form a cable/sensor that controls the starting of the car.

Intermittant starting / non starting or fault code 19 indicates its a problem...

Easy to fit and around £45 tc if you have a problem  :y

And on the DTI seemingly provides the signal for the rev counter and fuel pump control module on top of the pump according to the VX Master Tech that scanned the codes.

Aye and of course looking now at original posters car (2003) wouldnt be able to paperclip it for fault code.
