Headlamps good for MOT.
« on: 03 October 2008, 00:19:36 »

  Hi,
I managed to fit a pair of Projector Headlamp units to my 96 Elite today after the crappy original units failed the MOT on Tuesday.

After fitting the units i popped the car back to the MOT station and had him check the beam angles, the N/S was to far left but adjusting it to the right corrected it but lowered it instead and would not adjust up so he adjusted them both until it was as near to perfect as possible and said it was a pass ::).

As for the D/S that was to low and the unit had a missing adjuster for the up/down adjustment :'(. I managed to fix a nut to the hole where the adjuster rod went through the back of the unit and threaded a long bolt through the nut and into the hole where the plastic wedge would normally meet the inner light unit but when i backed off the bolt a few turns the beam came up slightly but still not enough to be spot on but luckily again he said it was near enough to give a pass ::).

So just waiting for my new exhaust centre boxes to arrive and should be road legal again :-X :).
