Bonfire night
« on: 03 November 2007, 15:13:38 »

Here in my local village there's a big park called bute park and they are having there bonfire night tonight and i just looked up on the net to see what time they open and read that its not free, you have to pay £5 adult and £3 for children, what a rip off, by the time i payed and then there's the rides and food to buy which i bet will be expensive will be an expensive night for me, i don't mind taking Hannah as she will love it but i just cant afford it some times ,when I'm a single parent, when i use to live in Cambridge they use to be a big fire work display on the common and it was free, sorry for the rant but i get up tight some times......

All the red tape, risk assessments and insurance cover are what cost the money no doubt. Used to be a few nice friendly village bonfires around here but most of them have been legislated out of existence :(

Have fun whatever you do. Have squandered the entire firework budget on a single rocket which I'm going to put a match to tomorrow night at my parents' place.

I would love more bank hols, this would give me a few more long weekends from work,

Your right, I can never remember having the amount of time off school as they do now.

And what really pi"ses me off is when the kids have a week, two weeks or the six weeks off, WHY do the teachers have a training day on the FIRST day back, have not they just had the hols to sort the training out. >:( >:(
