Which was a nicely engineered machine - proper metal tape transport and no plastic gears.  Shame about the format, but you can't have everything I suppose!

They'll be the happiest repair shop in town!  Think Christmas has come early!

"Ahh yes sir, we had to reroute the negative ions through the jeffries tube via the flux capacitor, That'll be £800 please"

Or in laymans terms, prepare to bend over and apply plenty of lube.

Wouldn't that acolade go to the Grundig 2*4 Super, using the Philips V2000 format ?. With the heads mounted on piezo Xtals, it could track the picture, no matter what speed, forward or reverse, plus it could tell you how many minutes left, or how long it has used. Quality, rather than cheap engineering.

No Hifi sound, no uprated picture quality, no insert edit.

Got all those plus real time tape counter, Scart out, lots of trick play speeds, and a funky tray for the mechanism which trapped part of the loom and snapped a cable

I needed to tape something so I decided to free off the mode motor on my Sony SL-HF950

Well it works now, but one of the chassis to deck wires got trapped and one was snapped.

That has been repaired but now there is no head rotation.

Any electronics gurus or VCR repair gurus available.

Can't afford another as they fetch stupid price S/H

Get a proper recorder - most have 2 freeview tuners now.  Certain Media Centers had 6, but had to take one out as new video card needed 2 slots

Problem with buying first to market, Pace Twin might be only a single record but it is very easy to use.

I got my Sanyo HiFi deck in for a bit (was by the PC for capturing) and that still works but the tapes are all knackered.

The super deck is on on Saturday so I'll drop it off after getting LPG.

My 1982 portable still works fine

My VCR stable is Sony SL-HF950 with no head rotation, Sanyo VTC-M40 which is 22 years old, and my 1982 VCR of the year SLF1UB portable
