Did you have black or wet plugs then?

Is your engine management light on?

Check for codes.
Have look at the air filter, if its blocked change it.
Get some carb cleaner and give the maf sensor a good spraying and then do the breathers ;)

Sounds more like you're running lean to me.

When you say you have notice it is running rich, were do you feel you're losing power??

Spark plugs really don't provide a reliable indication of mixture these days. Since the advent of unleaded fuel the deposits that used to give them their "colour" don't occur.

It's normal for plugs to come out of a modern engine looking black and sooty if it has recently been running cold, or idling for a long period. After high speed / heavy load running they go white and appear totally clean. This is more a symptom of the recent operating temperature of the plug than anything else.

I would say if the engine is running well, and gets up to, and maintains, the correct coolant temperature the likelihood is that nothing is wrong.

Based on the Haynes book of lies........as shown on Champion plugs :-/

If you're that worried about it mate, get a diagnostic probe up the exhaust to check the mix throughout the rev-range ;)
