hiya, for the cam cover you take off the little black ecotec panel, remove ht leads from the cover (dont need to mark them as they're the correct length for each spark plug)
then you undo the eigth allen screws along the cam cover (in two rows of 4)

the front shock absorbers, you need to undo the nut at the top of both towers/struts which is under the bonnet in both far corners which lowers the struts and then you undo the bolt on the knuckle behind the brake disc

for the timing belt you remove the wiring harness/black piece of plastic with a big thick plastic wire about 20mm diametre and then undo the 3(i think it is) bolts on the timing belt cover after having taken the auxilary drive belt off, then with that off you need to take the outer pulley off the crankshaft by undoing the 4 torx bolts
you then undo the bolt on the side of the tensioner to release the belt (think it's 12mm)
and then take off the idler pulleys.
it would help to have one of the small locking plastics for the cams as they can slip out of time from the compression on the valves(or remove the spark plugs) then put the new belt on (may have marking lines on for the position of the belt in relation to the timing marks on the casing of the timing belt/little cover thing on the end of the cam cover (it makes sense when you have the timing cover off)
-the timing mark for the crank is theres a longish spike looking thing at 2-3 o'clock of the crank shaft pulley which lines up with a notch with the outer pulley off or a small notch on the outer pulley if your positioning into t.d.c on cylinder 1 before taking the belt off which is a good idea

hope that helps
