late gear change

i just noticed that some times from 1 gear to  2 or 2 to 3

rpm go up to 4000 and gear change  :o on my old 2.0 it use to change

in 2000 rpm with  ( same driving style )

is that big???????? :( :'(

normally when it s cold

but today i changed th oil and filter and gasket and clean the sump .

i drive home than stop20 min then drive  for 3 mile.   it happend once

in up hill

In that case it's deliberate. Designed to get the cats warmed up quicker to improve emissions.  :y

Mine does the same. The bloke I bought it off said the gearbox might be faulty - I was able to tell him (thanks to this forum!) that it was by design!  :y

You're too honest. ;) Could have knocked the price down on account of the knackered gearbox.

my god i really scared yestrday
jumped to vx order the filter and gasket and oil
and i changed it today. the people want to change the oil they said
they the oil is for life if there is no leak should be ok ... i felt how silly
iam just burning money...but i said what ever i change the oil .
the oil in box  was like water. i said to the guy come and have a look
u said for life ????  my dad said i know why they say u dont need to change it . garage like big job £800 and more they dont like small job

I know. I only thought of that when I was driving it away. Must engage brain before opening mouth in future...  ::)

Yep, it's well worth changing the ATF every 60k or so IMHO.
