Direction indicator issue
« on: 31 October 2008, 11:19:39 »

Hi, I have an issue with my offside indicator which has developed an intermittant problem, the rear indicator and the side repeater flash fast and the front does not flash at all, I have checked the bulb in the front and it is ok, I have cleaned the contacts in the socket too but to no avail. when driving to work this morning it worked for the first few flashes then stopped.... anyone got any ideas?

bad connection or corrosion in the bulb holder/bulb contact.

Thanks tim, I have checked the socket and it is like new, I can only assume that it is the cable and have no real way to test it :(

Have you tried a different bulb? May be the bulb is just starting to fail.

Yep, I swapped the bulb with the opposite side still doing the same thing... starting to look like the cable coming from the socket :(

Thanks

perhaps if the wires look o,k check the earth to that side, try running a seperate wire from the plugs earth side direct to the battery negative, if it works then thatll tell you what wire is duffo!
