Radio code - only 3 probes?
« on: 03 November 2008, 15:33:55 »

My friend has got a radio in his Astra. It’s a really basic model, but don’t know which one (one DIN, that’s for sure). He had to disconnect the battery and as usual, was asked for a radio code. Tried 3 times and got it wrong (don’t know if the code is not ok, or he did it wrong). I thought that the code can be typed 10 times, but when turn the radio on while holding AS button, I get “07 SAFE” and that’s it, nothing’s happening. I tried to press AS once again but no success. AS is working fine, because without holding AS, I only get “SAFE”, without the counter.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

it takes longer to reset for another go the more you try, you have to leave it turned on until it decides to let you have another go ;)

Remember that the ignition needs to be on for the timer to count down.
