Model specification
« on: 03 November 2008, 19:57:18 »

Has anyone got a link to a full model spec list so that I can see what equipment each model has CDX, Elite, MV6 etc?

Is there much difference between the performance of the manuals and autos?  The only cars I seem to be able to find locally within my budget are autos :(

Are the auto boxes boxes pretty reliable?  I'm warming to the idea of a 3 litre auto with cruise control  :)

Autobox good :y

I have mine in a 3.2.

A good thing to do though is to get yourself to one of the Tech2 guys. (You can see the nearest one to you on the OOF Map) and have the gearbox software upgraded. It makes a hell of a difference in smooth gear changes and makes the cars transmission feel "firmer" out of corners.

What sort of price would I be looking at?

Get a 3.0/3.2 Auto with a gas conversion they are a hoot and cheap as chips to run. 3.0 can be picked up for £1000-1200 if you look around for a while :y

Parkers guise states 0-60 as 8.1s for manual 3.0 and 9.1 for auto.

Not recommended but...
Set the auto to sport mode.
Select D.
Hold it on the brake with your left foot.
Get about 3,500 revs going.
Quickly let the brake go.

I get a reliable 0-60 (63 on the speedo) in 8.0 - 8.2 seconds in mine  ;D ;D ;D

(I have done this no more than 6 times... ) ::) ::)

Gas sounds good but I've only got a budget of £500 so will probably have to stick with petrol :( Any idea how much a gas conversion would cost?
