Changing RH exhust manifold on 2.5 V6

Anything I should be wary of, I have a cracked right hand exhaust manifold and a good 2nd hand replacement.

I presume it is just a case of "soak in penetrating oil, undo nuts and bolts, new gasket, replace the 2 awkward snapped studs (that always happen on thse jobs) and refitting is the reversal of removal".

About 3-4 hours.

Goes something like this

Inlet out, coolant pipes at rear of engine off and out
Coolant bottle out
Air filter housing out
Coolant transfer pipe out
Heat shields off
Front pipe disconnected
Manifold off

In my case:

Inlet out, coolant pipes at rear of engine off and out
Cup of tea
Coolant bottle out
Cup of tea
Air filter housing out
Cup of tea and a biscuit
Coolant transfer pipe out
Lunch
Heat shields off
Cup of tea
Front pipe disconnected
Go find plasters
Manifold off
Wife wants me in the house, time to clean up

About 2 days I reckon!

Thanks for the advice, looking forward to completing it if not doing it! :y

Anything special to note about bleeding the cooling system, or just put the heating on full and slowly fill.   I ask because BMW's need a head of water to force the air out.

just fill up with 50/50 mix and squeeze pipes and start and run till fans kick in with cap ON or will chuck water all over ! then check level when cooled a bit  :y
