« on: 29 November 2008, 11:29:42 »

Went to vx yesterday to get sump plug rubber washer and 5 climate bulbs.

The parts bloke said that some of the climate bulbs CANT be replaced as they are built onto a pcb.???

Also he only had ONE dash bulb which he wasnt even sure if it was the right kinda bulb. Does anyone have a pic of a climate bulb please?? :y

Yes..they have the black ?(think I had some which were yellow before)plastic cap on the end that just turn and lock in place..change all 5 as sods law that the one you din,t replace will blow as soon as it is all back together.I also found it wise to tie a couple of cable ties on the "metal bar" so if needed to remove again it was easier than skining knuckles ,just pull ties.

he is talking about the facelift unit - can't be replaced DIY. but as they use a LED they rarely go anyhow, but yours are replaceable so best of luck

Mmmm, never thought of led's.  :y

What colour would they come out as dont want them to look different to rest of dash. Would like to do all of them in that ice white colour but its a mission isnt it?

Anyway this is a pic of the ONE bulb he had.

Is this the right sort???  :-/

It certainly looks right, in the vec there were black holders and green ones but I think they were the same. I double checked with Mick who runs the site I linked though and he said its 5 x 509t's for the Omega climate control. I have also got the full switch kit for another fiver, (almost) does all the switches except the traction control. I am waiting til he is back at work on Monday to see if he does something for that. Last lot I had of him had full instructions and he included a phone number so he could talk you through if you got stuck.
