My V6 is a V-random!
« on: 28 November 2008, 17:03:14 »

Had a hint of a miss every so often through the rev range for a few weeks, but last night it went into super mental misfire and had the mange light flashing away as I limped home (also wouldn't idle)...

Done the usual code check just now and got the 0300 as expected but also got:

P0704 Clutch Switch Input Circuit Malfunction

Would this have anything to do with it as apart from the miss codes and the usual 0420 cat below efficiency its a new one!

Typically, its done it as I am moving house at the mo and needed to shuttle around, also internet access will be none existant at best.

Still any help guys is MUCHLY appreciated as per  :y

I will post pics of the actual plugs tomorrow as the right bank seemed to have been changed at somepoint in its life but not recently and the left possibly never! They were wrong and looked like they had been in a boat for 20years!

The scary bit came when wrestling the rear plug out of the left bank, getting the plug out and finding some ceramic missing... Where the F*** is that?! Oh here...

Scary!!!

After doing a little poo in my trousers, me and the northern banana fingered monkey boy Ben (from sxoc land) went to halfords to purchase a very flash and exspensive set of long pliers

With military presision after listening to dolphin music and medetating alot we managed to rescue it... kind of...

Living up to his name, the banana fingered one was dragging the bit along the cam cover only to drop it into the hole where we had to remove the oil filler neck, so now it was here...

about 2 1/2 hours of bodging and adapting everything from hoovers to scissors we finally got it out with a knife wrapped with gaffer tape! :D

New plugs in and it runs like an absolute dream, treated to a K&N from J@garage mac and it now sound absolutley awesome too!

Nearly an expensive mistake though!
