check polen filter is in good condition and dry and the scuttle drain below it is not full of water/blocked. Generally check the car is dry in the footwell, the scuttle drain can over flow into the front pas foot well and soak the carpets. Rear doors can leak but this is rare. Also check the rear exhaust vents in the right side boot cupboard are clear and vents not stuck/blocked. I take it the gls just has ac not clintate control?

Hi Jim

As Chris said check the Scuttle drain as mine was doing the same thing last night had a look at the scuttle drain and was half full of water. Drained it out and cleaned out and no more steaming . Just a 5 min job but makes a big diff. :y :y

And if that doesn't fix it...

...prepare yourself for the possibility that your heater matrix is starting to leak.  :'(

make sure the air is not on recirc in general use.

when it does steam up, put the ac on with the heater and the recirc on, for about a half hour drive, this will act as a dehumidifier, then the mist should all be gone.

next put the ac off, and the air onto fresh not recirc.  and should be ok

you may have damp somewhere as discussed in posts above mine,

9/10 i get in peoples cars and this cures it! and its not the ac fault at all!

Ive got a CDX with climate control, no A/C and I have no blowers, resulting in steamy windows or rather FREEZING!! I fitted a new climate control unit but its no different. I get heat, when I put my hand on the vents, but no blower power whatsoever. It demists the first inch or so of the windscreen thats it. Anyone know what the next thing to look at is? Its driving me insane, and giving me pneumonia.

Passenger side scuttle drain was blocked when I got the car and blowers not working, but its clear now. Really wanna fix it as its unusable in winter, bloody dangerous in fact.

Ta in advance.

EDIT: just spoke to OmegaSpareParts on eBay and they seem to think it could be the resistor on the fan...anyone agree? gonna post a wanted ad now.

:-/ Climate Control IS air conditioning but with auto controls. You set a temp & the climate uses heat or a/c to maintain the selected temp.

check the vac pipes in engine bay esp the elbow on top of the hbv also vac pipes to bulk head by heater matrix pipes. Look to bulk head in line with  drivers side of engine. I beleive if not connected the heater vents stay closed. Or something  like, can someone else confirm or am i dribbleing again.

Also check the ac pump is spinning, bottom right pulley on the aux belt with 4 knobs on. If its not turning with the ac selected and eco not selected most likely its run out of gas due to a leak in condensor or the electrical connection is dodgy.
Have you seen -- displayed on the temp indicator? If so an ac fault is stored and can be read via tech2, but most likely no gas.

Haveing said all that(ive worded this all arse about face) if the blower motor has packed up then youll get no hot or cold anyway, only residual heat from within, no experience with that one, er... fuse?
