if you want to check if he has then compare the engine number on the v5 to the one situated just above/to the right of the oil filter (its stamped in running vertical from memory) (if you turn the steering to full lock right and jack the front left up you should beable to shine a torch to see it instead of climbin under the car :y

i will do that tomorrow in daylight and after ive cleaned engine as covered in oil lolx

just hope for his sake he has changed it >:( there be trouble if he hasnt

i seriously doubt he has if you had a bad oil leak and it still has one

the last one was coming from the cover gaskets for sure as the heat sheild was soaked in it


i think im looking for things that aent there cos the trouble im having but its just a niggling doubt that im getting

As Alex says, engine number is stamped on a plate by the oil filter...and is also on the V5C doc...

If the V5C for your car hasnt been changed to show the new engine number then obviously the engine number of the engine in your car now should be different to the V5C engine number on your cars docs :)
