HHO System
« on: 08 January 2009, 22:16:08 »

When the weather gets a bit warmer, i will be installing a HHO cell system into my Omega. I've already purchased the equipment and tested the gas that it produces with some very satisfying results so I just wondered if:
a/ Does anybody know much about this type of system?
b/ Is there enough interest for me to post a step by step when i do get around to doing it?

I am hoping for an improvement in fuel economy of around 25% (average) as i do roughly 400-500 miles a week.
I still drive the same old 2.5 auto meega  [smiley=smiley.gif]

Do you mean a hydrogen system? :-? :-?

I thought, outside at least the USA, there were no filling stations in the UK for it? ::) ::) :-?

HHO = H20 ???  H20= water ??

One of these so called fuel enhancer systems ??

http://diyhydrogenhho.com

Dihydrogen Monoxide .... I drink it everyday .. :)

I believe the theory is .. apply electrickery to water .. makes hydrogen and oxygen, add to cylinder, ignite ... provides additional fuel.

Unfortunately the energy required to produce the hydrogen/oxygen is more than the energy produced by burning the result ....

Almost, but not quite.
The system electrolyses water to produce it's 2 component parts, Hydrogen and Oxygen (HHO). Both gases are directed into the engine giving a much cleaner burn and using less of the fossil stuff.
These systems are supposed to improve power, acceleration and economy with NO detrimental effects but as always, you need to keep the car running in tip top condition for it to work properly.
Hope this helps  [smiley=wink.gif]  [smiley=wink.gif]

Good idea to post a step by step fitting guide, and what the result was after fitting.
Can I be nosey and ask how much the system set you back
